HOLLYWOOD star Ben Affleck has vowed to live on just $1.50 (98p) a day to highlight global poverty.
The millionaire Academy Award winner will have to survive for five days with less than £5 for all his food and drink.
He is joining thousands, including actor Jonah Hill and singer Josh Groban, taking part in the Live Below the Line Challenge.
It is meant to highlight the plight of the world's poorest people who survive on less than $1.50 a day all year round. An estimated 1.4billion people live in extreme poverty.
Argo actor and director Affleck announced his decision to get involved with the cause on Twitter, saying he was taking part on behalf of the Eastern Congo Initiative, the charity he set up in 2010 to help displaced people in the Eastern Congo.
The father of three, who is married to actress Jennifer Garner, has said in the past that he founded his charity to set an example to his daughters and "do more with my life than just make movies and try to make money".
