EX-Man United star Gary Neville has stepped in to pay players’ wages at his struggling hometown football team.
Bury FC — just relegated to League Two — need £1million just to survive.
The club could go out of business unless new backers can be found.
Former England fullback Gary, 38, now a TV pundit, dipped into his own pocket after hearing of their plight.
PFA chief Gordon Taylor said yesterday: “That is typical of Gary’s character. We’re hoping everything goes well and they get the investment they need.”
